If you’re new to the Tyler area, here are a few fun facts. Tyler is a city in the geographical area of East Texas known as the “Piney Woods”. It’s the largest city in Northeast Texas and is the county seat of Smith County. Tyler has long been the region’s major economic, educational, financial, medical, and cultural hub. Tyler sits about halfway between Dallas and Shreveport, and south of the Interstate I-20 corridor. U.S. Highway 69 is the major north-south route through the city. Tyler is known as a center for rose cultivation. In season, thousands of rose bushes line the manicured grounds of the Tyler Municipal Rose Garden.
